Studio 1234 Presents:
Elizabeth Gesicki
May 1– May 14 Reception: Thursday, May 1 at 7 pm – 9
pm, Artist Talk: Saturday May 10 at 3 pm
Up and coming photographer Elizabeth Gesicki exhibits
her "Softly Rose: a series of florals".
What do you do when you are dissatisfied with life?
When the career you’ve been building for almost 20 years
fails to fulfill? When the artist inside demands to be heard?
If you’re like Elizabeth Gesicki you make a complete life
changing decision to leave her position at Ryerson and follow
her passion for photography. In this her first gallery show, Ms.
Gesicki uses her macro lens to explore the interplay of light,
shadow and texture against the form and colour of the flower’s
very heart.
In her first collection, Elizabeth looks at florals from a "closer" perspective.
Working with light, shadow and depth of field she captures a softness
in each image that the viewer can see and feel. Some found growing
wild in Cape Breton, some in gardens in the GTA and others found
at the local flower market, Elizabeth Gesicki has found beauty
in each of them.
