John Molnar

Well-known Toronto based fine artist John Molnar showcases
his latest works including his Pico Italia Series, which
captures all the colour and
charm of Little Italy. Landscapes and still lifes are in oil and
casein.
John Molnar was born in Welland, Ontario and
had an early interest in art. After graduating from the
Ontario College of Art in Toronto, he pursued
a career as a commercial illustrator before turning
to fine art in the late 80's. Since that time,
John has exhibited in Canada and the United States
and his works hang in many private and
corporate collections.
Known for his lush landscape paintings,
primarily in oil or casein, John was the subject
of a feature article in the February 2004 and the
July 2003 issue of "The Artist's Magazine,"
the October 2002 issue of "American Artist," and the June 2000 issue of
"
International Artist Magazine." All four
articles focused on his work in casein.
In 2003, John was recognized for his
achievements in casein and was invited
to judge the 2003 International Casein Art
Competition sponsored by Jack Richeson & Co,
"American Artist," and the National Society
of Painters in Casein & Acrylic.
Most recently, John was one of 30 artists
selected to be featured in the book entitled
"
My Friends, Today's Great Masters, ” published by Jack Richeson in 2007.
John is also a much sought after instructor
for both casein and landscape workshops, and has
participated in the Artsperience Program at
Canadore College in North Bay, Ontario for the past
five years. In addition, he has taught workshops
at Curry’s Art School,
is scheduled to teach a casein workshop at
the Richeson School for Art in Kimberly,
Wisconsin in July 2008, and gives private
art lessons in his in his studio in Toronto's Little Italy.
He is an active member of the
Federation of Canadian Artists
and the Ontario Society of Artists (OSA),
Canada's first society for artists.
John resides in Toronto with his wife Cathy.
