Book Review:

Basic Figure Drawing Techniques
EDITED: Greg Albert
COPYRIGHT: 1994

I have been working through this book to to understand drawing the human figure. The book covers basic gestures to anatomy and details drawing various parts of the anatomy including the head. It also covers developing form, materials, the body in motion, how the body moves (joints, proportion, centering, how to see, using comparisions to assist in judging body proportions and position when drawing and a wide variety of other helpful approaches to drawing the human figure. If you are interested in how this art is created then this is a good resource book.

"The human figure is one of the most challenging and satisfying subjects an artist can attempt. No other single subject offers as much opportunity for artists to study grace, strength and the power of emotion. Here, five outstanding artists teach you their figure drawing techniques. You'll learn from: Greg Albert, Marbury Hill Brown, Bert Dobson, Walt Reed and Joseph Sheppard."
